8 fun ways to improve your health in Ruskin Park

Shake off the cobwebs and get outside! Discover the fun you can have free in Ruskin Park.

1. Play ping pong on our free table near the Ferndene Road loos.

2. Do a free 30 min or hour-long walk with Everyone Active. Meet at the main Denmark Hill entrance on Thursdays at 11am.

3. Join us for some community gardening, held 10am-12:30pm on the first and third Saturday of each month. We do simple gardening tasks such as pruning, weeding and bulb planting. We also grow vegetables and help improve our Wildlife Garden.

4. Enjoy the new Steel Warriors outdoor gym near the football pitch. Join a free guided workout: Tuesdays 3:15-4:15pm is a strength workout; Thursdays 3:15-4:15pm is cardio; and Saturdays 2-3pm is freestyle.

5. Take a jog on the outer loop path – it’s almost 2km long.

6. Get that feel-good vibe by doing some litter picking – any day or with our friendly group on Wednesdays at 10am. Meet at the community garden and enjoy some tea and biscuits after the picking.

7. Take your yoga mat and do some yoga moves amongst the trees.

8. Follow our wonderful tree trail and discover some of the park’s rare and beautiful trees.
