Join us: Edible Gardening Saturdays 12-3pm
We run drop-in gardening sessions every Saturday afternoon between 12pm and 3pm. Everyone is welcome, and no gardening experience is necessary! There are friendly garden enthusiasts on hand to introduce you to the garden and show you what to do. Equipment is provided but you may wish to bring your own gardening gloves (and a bag to take home any produce).
Or if you just want to enjoy the garden come and sit at our picnic tables and have a chat and a drink.
Feel free to drop by and ask any questions or ask for a tour – we are very proud of our garden! Just find somebody in the garden and introduce yourself or email communitygarden@friendsofruskinpark.org.uk if you have any questions.
How to find us
Our garden is in Ruskin Park on the right if you enter from the Denmark Hill entrance.
From the bandstand, walk towards the railway lines, turn right and walk towards the Denmark Hill park entrance.
Garden Rules
We have a few rules to keep everyone safe and our environment healthy:
- Don’t step in the beds if possible
- Open-toed shoes and metal gardening tools are a risky combination; please wear close-toed shoes if you’re going to be digging/forking
- No use of pesticides or other products that aren’t acceptable to organic farmers
- No dogs
- Take any rubbish with you
- Be kind and considerate to other volunteers
- Children need to be supervised and mustn’t use the big tools
- Don’t leave tools lying on the ground.
