Get active in Ruskin Park

From bookable sports pitches to an outdoor gym, Ruskin Park is full of free and low-cost opportunities for getting active and improving your health and well-being.

Free sport and fitness facilities

Available to use at any time:

  • An outer path for walking and running around the park, which is just under 2km.
  • A basketball court next to the playground.
  • A table tennis table, near the toilet block off Ferndene Road. Friends of Ruskin Park fundraised for the table.
  • A new Steel Warriors gym.
  • A paddling pool and play equipment for children.

Guided walks

Everyone Active lead 30-minute or one-hour walks around the park every Thursday starting at 11am.

We organise volunteer-guided walks throughout the year including our popular ‘Bat Walk‘ and ‘Plant Folklore Walk‘. Sign up for free membership to keep updated.

Steel Warriors gym

The park recently welcomed an outdoor gym, built by anti-knife crime charity Steel Warriors and funded by the Co-op. The gym is designed for calisthenics, or exercise using your own body weight.

The gym is free to use at all times, and Steel Warriors run three free classes each week for all abilities. Find out class times and watch training videos on the Steel Warriors website.

TLCC Trapeze School

Each summer the park hosts the TLCC Trapeze School, offering paid flying trapeze lessons for all abilities on a full size aerial rig. Find out more on the TLCC website.

Bookable sports facilities

Other sports facilities are managed by GLL on behalf of Lambeth Council. Find out how to book.
