AGM attendees hear of investment plans and call for volunteers

Annual review copiesWe’d like to say a big thank you to the more than 50 park users who attended the Friends of Ruskin Park’s AGM, which was held on 12th January on Zoom.

Attendees heard welcome news from Lambeth Council that following the development of the masterplan, Ruskin Park will receive much-needed capital investment to begin improvements. More details and opportunities for engagement will be shared in the coming months.

We thanked our volunteers and made a call for anyone interested in helping out to sign up as a member and get in touch. Volunteers can get involved in behind-the-scenes roles such as communications, web editing and graphic design, or improvement projects and events. When restrictions allow, our gardening and litter-picking sessions are brilliant for those who want to support out in the fresh air.

The 2019/20 Annual Report (pdf) was approved, and we and Lambeth Council representatives welcomed questions and comments.

Dr Alex Penn shared her presentation Climate Change Resilience in Ruskin Park (pdf) outlining how climate and other environmental changes might affect the park. And attendees were shown a short film of photos and children’s artwork (MP4) reflecting enjoyment of the park.

Attendees were also reminded of the relevant contact details:

The AGM Minutes will be published shortly.
