We need volunteers

We would delighted to hear from anyone wanting to help with any of our activities, projects or events. If you are interested in any of the opportunities below or want to help us with anything else just let us know. Enter the details in the form below and we’ll get in touch. You can also volunteer while becoming a member for free.

Current opportunities

Helping at events

We regularly need help on the day at events in the park. In particular, each summer we need volunteers to carry out a range of tasks at the Ruskin Park Summer Fete or to act as stewards for the Summer Bandstand Concert series.

Paddling Pool

In 2016 we managed to save the Paddling Pool after a phenomenal response from the local community to our crowdfunding campaign. However, to keep it open we need both regular and occasional volunteers to help with practical activities like cleaning and filling the pool. No experience is necessary and training is provided where needed.

Horticulture, planting and food growing

We also would like to hear from anyone wanting to help with looking after an area of the park. Botanical experience or horticultural interest could help us in a micro area of the park.

We regularly need help with weeding, shrub pruning, litter picking from more obscure areas, care of the ornamental pond, care of the wildlife area and community orchard area.

There are also opportunities to support our partners Trees for Cities or the Ruskin Park Community Garden with their activities.

Committee and working groups

We are always looking for people with specific experience, interest or enthusiasm to help by getting involved in a working group or on a particular issue. It is not necessary to be a full committee member or trustee to do this.
