Free Gardening Talks and Workshops
The Ruskin Park Community Garden is going from strength to strength, with a surge in new volunteers joining the team. Their dedication has meant for almost a year the Garden has opened every Saturday between 12 and 3pm. The lack of rainfall during the summer was tough on the vegetables, but with a watering rota we were able to rise to the challenge and are now enjoying a remarkable tomato crop..
We’re now inviting you to join us for a series of gardening talks and workshops:
- Saturday 10th September – 11:30-12:30 – Planning for our community garden next year and planting for winter
- Saturday 1st October – 11:30-12:30 – Greenhouse – window boxes winter planting
- Saturday 15th October – 11:30-12:30 – Onions, beans, cabbage, autumnal planting – hardy outdoor vegetables
- Saturday 12th November – 11:30-12:30 – Fruit cage maintenance
The talks will be given by Community Gardener, Fabrice Boltho, and will be followed by a refreshment break and then an opportunity to stay and put skills and knowledge into practice in an accessible gardening session until 3pm, led by Fabrice. No booking required.
