Looking after our bandstand

The bandstand is a rare heritage feature of Ruskin Park, designed in the Edwardian age for music performances. It was restored following a fund-raising campaign by the Friends of Ruskin Park in the early 2000s.

It is quite fragile and should not be climbed on, or used for heavy exercise and equipment, or parties.

We want it to be open for walking on, and for it to last. In community spirit, no-one has exclusive use of it, unless they have booked it through Lambeth Events. Lambeth has given permission to some bands to rehearse for short periods during the Covid pandemic, and within regulations.

Small groups on the bandstand should follow Covid regulations for gathering and social distancing.
