Park volunteering during the second lockdown

Following the announcement of new national restrictions from Thursday 5th November 2020 to, we are making a number of changes to our gardening and litter-picking activities.

Unfortunately our group volunteering sessions on Wednesday and Saturday mornings are cancelled during the lockdown.

What we can do

We hope to continue supporting the park at this challenging time, when our green spaces are more important than ever.

It is possible to undertake certain agreed tasks on your own, with members of your own household or with one person from another household.

However, it’s important that activities continue to follow our guidance on volunteering during Covid-19.

Litter-picking

Picking up litter is an easy way to help while adhering to social distancing.

We will contact existing volunteers to enable you to borrow a litter-picker and hoop to keep at home. They can also be purchased from many online retailers.

Please familiarise yourself with the safety “Do’s and Don’ts” in the guidance.

Gardening

We hope there will be opportunities for existing gardening volunteers to undertake agreed tasks in your own time. We will be in touch with details.

Unfortunately we will not be able to welcome any new gardening volunteers for the time being. Once we are able to, we will prioritise those who had already registered for the cancelled sessions.
