Photography Competition Terms and Conditions 2024

A competition to use photography in any way you see fit to make an image that conveys your interpretation of the theme, Generation. 

All entries will be accepted if they meet the following criteria:

Origination 

All photos must have been taken in Ruskin Park in the 12 months from 1st August 2023.

Format

Entries will be digital, taken by any camera or mobile phone. 

Adults

The adult competition is open to anyone aged 16 or over on the closing date of 31 July 2024.

By submitting an entry, each entrant agrees to these terms and conditions. 

There is no entry fee.

Under 16s 

Date of birth must be provided through the online entry form to qualify for entry to the under 16s’ category. Entrants must be under 16 when the competition closes.

There is no entry fee.

Number 

No more than three separate entries per person.

Exhibition

All entries will be exhibited online at the Friends of Ruskin Park website. The winning photos and selected others will be exhibited in the park, as well as on our website, Facebook group and other social media channels.

Copyright 

Any submitted image may be used in publicity for the Friends of Ruskin Park or the competition sponsors and other non-commercial purposes e.g. community magazine. Images used will be credited wherever possible.

Prizes

First: £75 

Second: £50 

Third: £25.

Under 16s: £75

Image requirements 

Digital files should be submitted as JPEGs. To make sure we can print a quality photo for exhibiting in the park, please make sure you have a high quality version available. Each uploaded image can be up to 10MB in size. 

Any digital adjustments should be limited to basic enhancements, e.g. tone and contrast, burning, dodging, cropping, sharpening, noise reduction and minor cleaning work. 

An entry description of up to 250 words per image.

Entry form and dates

To enter the competition, complete an online entry form.

Closing date for submissions is 31 July 2024.

The winners will be announced on the Friends of Ruskin Park website on 7 September 2024.

Results

The winning photos will be exhibited on the Friends of Ruskin Park website and on the community garden railings in Ruskin Park.

Acceptance of the Rules

By submitting work to the Friends of Ruskin Park Photography Competition 2024 participants are agreeing to the above terms and conditions.
