Formed in the UK in 1995, Kausary are one of Europe’s best-known Andean bands, bringing the vibrant spirit of Latin America to audiences across the country and beyond. Kausary is a unique three-generation family group, with grandparents, parents and children performing together to share the rich musical traditions of the Andes across generations. Combining traditional Andean melodies with contemporary Latin rhythms, the band creates an unforgettable live experience filled with passion, colour and energy. Their music draws inspiration from the highlands, coastal regions and Amazon basin of South America, blending panpipes, quena flutes, charango, guitar and percussion with rich harmonies and uplifting rhythms.
“Kausary” means “to revive” in Quechua, reflecting the band’s mission to keep Andean culture alive through music and family tradition. Led by founder and multi-instrumentalist Johnny Figueroa Rodriguez, the group has performed at major festivals, cultural events and venues including the BBC, British Museum, Carnaval del Pueblo and the Eden Project. With expressive performances, authentic musicianship and a deep family connection spanning three generations, Kausary continue to captivate audiences with the timeless sounds of the Andes.
